Peter Faber’s Parlour
Peter Faber’s parlour
Was the originally “The Bar” where many wise words were spoken, and also the place where the servers stayed (maybe a little too much), therefore the old sheep bell on the wall to the left. The bell is mounted with a rope through the wall to the kitchen, and is still in use when there is food in the kitchen waiting to be served, the bell is pulled.
The famous poet Peter Christian Frederik Faber lived in the building and frequented the restaurant daily. Today he is probably best known for some of Denmark’s most famous Christmas carols, such as “High from the tree green top” – “What a violent uproar and alarm”, and many more.
